I’m Alison, a Reflexologist based in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.

Most people I work with aren't coming because of a specific physical complaint - they're coming because life has caught up with them. Often that shows up in the body - tension, poor sleep, a constant 'wired but exhausted' feeling - but the root of it is usually stress: juggling work, children, supporting aging parents, and everything else that midlife tends to pile on at once (the 'sandwich generation' as it's often called, and which I am part of too).

Whilst many of my clients are women navigating the demands of midlife, I equally welcome anyone feeling worn down by stress or caring responsibilities - including partners, carers, and others feeling stretched thin - whatever phase of life they are in.

Sessions run for a generous 75 minutes or more, rather than the standard 60, because getting settled, having a proper chat about how you're doing and truly relaxing into the treatment simply takes longer than an hour allows, in my experience. I'd rather you leave feeling unhurried than watch the clock and ensure that every session is tailored to your needs.

A background in Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory also helps me to bring a different perspective on how emotional strain can be reflected in the body into my sessions.
